Cottage Cafe, SSF

Nice little hole in the wall cafe in SSF located right on the Grand Avenue. The owner Stanley was so nice and welcoming. He was our server and he was very attentive and had a funny personality,  you feel like you have known each other for years. Very friendly atmosphere here. Their Japanese cheesecake tastes like cheesecake and chiffon cake had a baby, this would be the result. It is light and not very sweet with two different textured layers. It's topped off with a light drizzle of chocolate syrup and a small dollop of whipped cream. You can't  leave without having a piece. The pulled pork Benedict special with home fries was tasty. The pulled pork was a little crispy. The poached egg was perfect it slowly oozed out when cut into. I think I would have liked having the mixed greens instead of the home fries. The home fries are good, but not the right pick for the benedict. The Bacon Avocado Benedict with mixed greens was yummy the avacado was nicely sliced the bacon was a bit crispy but nice. The hollandaise sauce was a bit sweet but yummy. The mixed greens was dressed with a dijon vinaigrette with either apples or pears in it. I loved the taste of it. It had a nice light flavor to it. Again the poached eggs were perfectly made. Spicy Andouille sausage, cheddar cheese with bell peppers omelette served with toast and hash browns. The omelette was a nice portion with lots of flavor. The hash browns were just the right level of being not too mushy or too crispy. Single side of Pancakes the pancake was a bit crisp on the outside, but somewhat soft and crumbly on the inside. Its definitely different but good. Their syrup was yummy not your normal dark amber color. It was more of a golden color.

I would definitely come back here. If your looking for a small place to grab something to eat this is a nice place to go they serve breakfast, brunch and lunch. The menu was reasonably priced too.
