Breakwater BBQ

Took a ride down to Half Moon Bay for some pumpkins and saw signs for this place. I had to try them out on my way back from pumpkin hunting. I love BBQ and let me tell you I'm always looking for new places to eat. Its a nice little place on the coast. Outdoor seating is available, so a fairly new place. As for the food, I wasn't quite impressed I got one of the Smokehouse sandwiches the Brisket Chopped which for $12 you just get the sandwich on a bun with charred onions, Ancho Coffee sauce, pickled jalapenos and pickles. The Ancho Coffee sauce is really good if I must say and the meat was pretty tender. But quantity wise that was it. I paid $5 more for a side of the Mac N' Cheese which was creamy but didn't have much flavor to it. It was cheesy but you really couldn't distinguish the cheese flavor. I did buy some meat by the pound to take home, I got their Brisket at $27/lb, didn't seem like much but I like making Beef and Barley soup with Brisket. The meat was tender and had a decent flavor. But I do have a higher standard from another BBQ place, sadly I have yet to find a place thats better than Memphis Minnie's.

I also decided to try their Texas Sheet cake which was $4/slice. It was a decent slice but could have been a bit thicker of a slice. The taste was nice, I ended up eating that a day later, since the BBQ didn't quite agree with me. After all that I might go back and try something else, but for now all I can say is that they were ok and it does give some options for a place to eat while driving down the coast.
